SE14 DILUTION, MIXING AND COMPATIBILITY GUIDE

HOW TO USE SE14

Due to the viscosity of SE14®, it has the potential to be slow to pump, especially in cold conditions. This can be overcome by pre-diluting with water at a minimum ratio of 1:1 prior to use. The lower the percentage of SE14®, the faster it will go into solution.

  1. When SE14® is diluted with water, heat can be generated when the two products interact. Recent lab tests have confirmed when mixing SE14® and water (both at 20 and 30’C), the diluted mix initially rose approx. 6’C in temperature however there was no thick gel formation. When the tests were conducted with water at 20’C and SE14® at both 10’C and 40’C they mixed together very slowly with a thick gel forming. Any thick gel will go into solution with time.
  2. The pre dilution mixing temperature of SE14® should be between 20’C – 25’C range otherwise problems of gel formation MAY be encountered.
  3. When mixing always add the SE14® SLOWLY to the water whilst mixing and recirculating. Mix and recirculate until all SE14® has completely dispersed in the water.
  4. In colder conditions storing neat SE14® in sheds overnight is good practice to prevent the product becoming too cold and viscous. Pre-diluting in warmer conditions is good practice as the SE14®
    flows easier. Once pre-diluted in water, product can be stored for up to 3 months without the need for agitation.

PRE MIXING TO MAKE 50:50 DILUTION WITH WATER

Pre fill clean IBC with 500L water.

  • While providing gentle recirculation add SE14® via gravity feed to water in IBC.
  • Ensure when recirculating/returing mixed solution, it is below surface level of original water (i.e below 500L mark).

MIXING WITH WATER PRIOR TO PUMPING INTO NURSE TANK

An alternative to pre-diluting well before sowing begins is to dilute when cartage tanks are being filled. Using a twin pump intake whereby separate hoses are attached to the bottom of an SE14® IBC and a water source,  the venturi created allows for the pumping of SE14® and water simultaneously.

  1. Draw water into the pump prior to opening the SE14® valve.
  2. A diluted mix of SE14® is pumped into the cartage tank.

ADDING SE14 TO LIQUID CARTS
  1. Half fill liquid cart with water and/or UAN
  2. Commence agitation
  3. Add pre-diluted 1:1 SE14® mixture
  4. Add trace elements, fungicides or other crop protection/ nutrition products.
  5. While agitation continues, top up with required water or UAN
COMPATIBILITY

Successful compatibility test have been carried out with the following products;
• UAN
• Evergol Prime
• Impact (250g/L Flutriafol)
• Various Oxide & Chelated TE’s (Cu, Zn, Mo, Mn)
• Uniform
• As with all products, if unsure of the compatibility of a mixture, conduct a jar test prior to mixing larger volumes.
